To fast or not to fast, that is the question. It is one that has been on the minds of millions of men and women throughout the ages. It was taught to them religiously that fasting could make them better people. This philosophy is not incorrect but it is complex to put right. Both body and mind must be in harmony to cleanse and heal. If the mind is not set right to fasting, fast rules can be broken and the body does not benefit.
And if the mind is strong but the body weak, fasting can be a tad dangerous for the more vulnerable among men and women. What happens is this. You are well and truly giving your body (and mind) a break this time around. You are still enjoying meals throughout the day, and then some.
For intermittent fasters on a health and wellness mission second to none, breakfast is still the most important meal of the day. But it is an energetic spurt of eating sessions that begin from the moment you rise up in the morning to the bell for the midday siesta. You could see yourself enjoying wholesome and healthy meals every two to three hours in bite size chunks. A similar eating pattern takes place throughout the afternoon and well nigh into the night.
The object of the exercise is to enjoy healthy meals in smaller portions. The three hour intervals give the body’s immune system a great opportunity to recover from all exertions throughout the day. There is no sense of feeling bloated after one heavy meal of the day, nor is there ever a sense of going hungry because you continue to eat throughout the day. It will work out well for you. The only way you will know this for sure is if you give intermittent fasting, and not wholesale fasting, a try.
